Similar to ornamental crops, there are also food crops that can be grown, that enjoy a more wet environment. This means that in the event of heavy rainfall, a certain amount of water can be added to the environment and not disrupt the natural growth of the crop. This would not be the case, however for other crop types that do not do well in water logged soil. A list of water tolerant food crops are as follows:

2. Indian Lotus
3. Taro
4. Rice
5. Watercress

Honestly I didn't know Cattail was a water tolerant plant...the only one I was aware of was rice (duh lol). Thanks for the info!
